Dingle Goldsmiths make beautiful jewellery that's inspired by the heritage and stunning scenery of Corca Dhuibhne. They are mindful of their energy consumption, and have recently switched to LED lighting inside their jewellery cabinets and have cut the ceiling lighting in the shop by more than half. They also melt down all their gold and silver filings and reuse them in other jewellery.

For Dingle COP, they've pledged to further reduce their energy usage by measuring out the water they use in their electric kettle so that they only heat what they need. This is a simple but effective way to make a difference since electric kettles use a lot of energy to heat up water rapidly.

Ventry PO Siopa Uí Lúing are true champions of the community and environment. They've already set up a refill station in the shop where you can fill your containers with laundry soap and washing up liquid, and they have recently started offering 2go cups for takeaway drinks. They stock a huge amount of local produce and promote unprocessed and organic food and beverages.

Ventry PO Siopa Uí Lúing are proof that even the most ethical and environment-aware businesses can still come up with one more change that further reduces their carbon emissions! For Dingle COP, they've focused on reducing their food waste and have identified new, alternative ways to dispose of waste ethically and sustainably, for example, coffee grounds will now go to a neighbour for their garden.
