Reducing emissions, increasing biodiversity

A local leader in sustainable tourism, Tig Feirme Gleann Loic B&B in Dunquin have pledged to plant native trees and conserve wildflower areas to support biodiversity.

Tig Feirme Gleann Loic B&B are one of only 18 Irish businesses selected for the CE4RT program.

Linda and the team at the Dingle Dentist already use sustainable PPE. For Dingle COP, they have pledged to use only compostable/recyclable paper cups, commit to suppliers that use compostable/recyclable packaging only, reduce/omit the use of single-use plastics where possible and source sustainable alternatives, and plant native wild flowers in the rear garden.

Dingle Printing have already taken measures to reduce their electricity usage and always avoid single-use items like water bottles and cups. They use paper produced in the EU from FSC certified resources or Euro Eco label for most of their work, and have pledged to increase this to 95% of their paper projects by November. They will also further reduce electricity usage by turning off equipment when not in use.

LilyMais is a new store & studio on the Marina that operates a circular business model, repurposing end-of-life fabrics into colourful wearables including dresses, hoodies, reversible bucket hats and shorts. LilyMais have just launched a new range of cushions and have pledged to fill them with locally sourced natural wool, a biodegradable material that is abundant in Corca Dhuibhne.
